If you see a convoy liked this parked along the side of the road in your neighborhood you know something has gone wrong. This Kenworth army belongs to Winters Rigging, a company that specializes in train derailments. According to their website they can have their fleet of cranes, dozers and trucks on the way to an accident scene one hour from the time a call is received. You know what that means, big bucks. In the grand scheme of things it’s much cheaper than having a busy rail line closed for days or weeks. Dan shot this group of photos back in 2007 when a CSX train containing more than a few propane laden cars derailed outside of Wampsville, NY. The derailment caused a 23 mile stretch of the NY Thruway to close as precaution until the fire was quelled.
