Hayes spotted this mint condition International Transtar II not too long ago outside the HQ of Kutzler Express in Kenosha, WI. Checking out their website you’ll find a photo of a similar Transtar when both trucks were presumably brand new units. The Transtar II, technically know as the CO/COF-4070B was one of the premier cabover trucks of its time. The highways and biways of America were jammed full of this model in various colors, trims, and wheelbases. With a production year range from 1974 to 1981 many can still be found lurking around backlots and the classic truck show circuit. If you’re really lucky you may even find one still working. This particular Kutzler truck is a prime example of how an otherwise bland fleet truck can really stand out with just a few tasteful pieces of chrome and other hardware. If my memory is correct I believe the owners of this truck were recently profiled in the ATHS publication Wheels of Time. I’ll dig through my archives and get back to you on the exact issue.
Thanks for sharing this awesome truck Hayes!
