Here we see the Town of Sullivan and the Madison County Highway Department working together to pave a lake side road. Despite all the madness in the world you still have to keep the lights on and the roads paved. I don’t know about you but I’ve taken a new appreciation for seeing constructions crews on out the job. It’s reassuring to see work getting done. It’s a nice reminder that world has not stopped turning.
Our friend Jeff took these pictures for us while he was hauling material for the town crew. He reports that they are an up and coming group of skilled pavers. Together with their new Carlson paver they made short work of the job.
Apparently this machine is from the first year of Carlson pavers. The company is better known for making high quality screeds for other paving manufacturers like Vogel.
And finally we take a look at Jeff’s ride of choice, an International HV powered by the A26 engine. By all reports this is a quality engine unlike previous models that shall go unnamed. Jeff reports that fuel economy is quite impressive considering he is dump trucking.
Nice pictures Jeff! Looking good out there. This is a far cry from when I was working for the Town of Sullivan doing paving jobs with our 1955 Blaw-Knox Express paver powered by a Continental Red Seal flathead six gas engine.
