Truck Spotting – Hiawatha Blvd

Today we have the result of truck spotting that took place on Hiawatha Blvd. The activity on this four lane stretch of road is constant. Plenty of trucks heading to the Roth Steel and other industrial businesses in the neighborhood.

Looking at the galleries below we have a Freightliner for Moulton’s Towing. A Peterbilt for JPW Riggers. A straight Mack Superliner and late model Peterbilt. A semi wrecker for Big Red Towing on a International 9300 Eagle chassis. The last three trucks in the set belong to EJ Transport of Wynantskill, NY.

Truth be told the JPW truck was shot on a different street but who is checking? This stretch of road turned out to be a real gold mine. Everything you see here rolled by within a 20 mintues. Further down the road there was non stop dump truck activity relating to the dredging of Onondaga Lake. A return visit is in the works.

I saw the “gussied” upped Kenworths and at least one more drive through Fayetteville on Friday or Thursday of last week…

Nothing that I know of, but sometime in November, ’12, I saw in Manlius rumbling down Rt. 92 a truck with the name “Wilkinson Salvage” on the door of a Mack R model with a roll-off dumpster on it. I really didn’t think anything of it, thinking that it was from a yard in Perryville. While on a “Sunday drive” we drove through Lathams Corners, southeast of Norwich by about 10 miles, I spotted a junk yard. I went to check it out and the name on the sign was “Wilkinson Salvage.” So that was quite the haul, heading to Syracuse to drop off a load of scrap…
