For years now power companies have compelled consumers to save energy with behavior modifying rebates on items like programmable thermostats, air sealing, and insulation. Most utilities will even allow you to purchase energy generated from renewable resources. Like the old saying goes, practice what your preach. This NYSEG Freightliner M2 is a good example. It contains a Altec hybrid lift which does not require the truck to run when using the bucket thus reducing emissions and fuel consumption. The body of the bucket unit is made of aluminum and other composite material to reduce weight which again reduces energy consumed.
