Terex 72-51B

Terex, things just haven’t been the same since you dumped the awesome lime green color on your construction equipment.  I’m sure the focus groups responded well to the new cream white color with black lettering but you should have left well enough alone.

International Through The Ages

I caught this old ‘binder at a local dealer last weekend.  Most likely, it’s an International 9300, maybe a 9370.  The model represented the “conventional” styled rig in Internationals line up for a number of years.

This model line was gradually phased out in the mid 90’s and was succeeded by the 9900i series, pictured below.

What we have here is a 2013 Mack Pinnacle, a truck that we don’t see nearly enough of on the highways today.

Working after retirement

After retiring many people realize that for one reason or another they need to re-enter the work force.  Something similar happened to the Autocar fire truck.  Dan sends us the photos below explaining that this Autocar was probably a crash truck at the Buffalo airport.  At some point in time it was solid and is now a very cool advertisement for a bar and a carpet cleaning business.  Strange mix if you ask me but a seriously neat idea for advertisement.

On the Job – Everyone wants to be downtown

Like many older cities across the northeast the downtown portion of Syracuse, NY has seen better days. Decades of flight to the suburbs by both retail and business owners have left their scars. But not all hope is lost. The past ten years or so have seen a concentrated effort from both the public and private side of the economy to boost and grown the downtown core. Now instead of gradual decay it seems like there is always some project underway. One thing is sure, from basic infrastructure maintenance to new construction, downtown is always a good local for truck spotting.

On the Job – CAT PM201

A few weeks back Marc sent in some great photos of Terex cold planer riding on the back of a Peterbilt. Today I bring you the rival to that great machine, the CAT PM201. I had the good fortune to catch this machine at work during my lunch break yesterday.  A near by parking garage provided a great vantage point of both the CAT and nicely maintained International S2XXX.  This particular crew was working to repave the roads around the future Centro bus terminal in Syracuse, NY.

And right around the corner from this activity the twin to the Riccelli Enterprises truck in the video above was waiting for its turn at bat.

Delivery in 30 minutes or less…

Okay, so delivery may not take place in 30 minutes or less but this Pete 389 hauling a trifecta of Peterbilt 320’s will still look good no matter how long it may take to finish the job.
