Lost and Found – In the Dumps

Time to take a trip through the DDD archives for the most recent addition to the Lost and Found file.  This Brockway 761 used to reside in an empty lot on the west side of Syracuse.  The surrounding area is pretty sketchy and the truck sat at the far end of the lot so I figured the only photo I would ever have would be the one in my mind.  After driving by the truck nearly every day on the way home from work my curiosity eventually got the better of me and I decided the time had come to take a closer look.  To add an extra twist I learned the lot was soon to be cleared for the construction of a new Rite Aid.  It was now or never.

So there she is, in all her glory.  It is hard to tell from the photo but the windshield is long gone.  Eventually the lot was cleared and the truck disappeared.  Gone for good most logical minds would assume.  Believe it or not, this truck must have value to someone as it moved one mile up the road.  As of July 2011 this is how the truck looks according to Google Maps.

This may just warrant a closer inspection.

Also on the lot was this baby blue International dump truck.  Appears to be solid.  The color reminds me of Chicago DPW scheme but Syracuse is a loooong way from Chicago so who knows.
